7 Misconceptions
On top of the main problem I shared above, we also have the following 7 misconceptions that hold us back from reaching our full potential as a Muslim citizen of the world to serve and thrive to become a beacon of hope and example to the mankind at large.
Dunya = Fitnah
Usually, it goes like dunya is fitnah. So avoid as much as you can.
But as long as dunya is in your hand only but not in your heart, it could be used for good.
Just Dua It
They say that just to make dua. Everything will be fine.
We have to do make dua and give our best effort to make something happen.
Sabr = Just Waiting Only
Sabr is not waiting and waiting until things change. As Muslims we should strive our best to make a positive change, make dua then have a beautiful sabr :)
Righteousness = More Worship
It is not only about praying more daily salah only, but also how we live our life in whole, how we do business as well as how we treat others, etc.
Qadr - It's All Written - Why Bother?
While Allah SWT has the power, knowledge and will over all things since He is beyond Time/Space, we all have still free will. So use it.
Taqwa = the fear of Allah
Taqwa means being mindful of Allah SWT day and night as much as we can.
Tawakkul Without Tying Your Camel
Tawakkul means we tie our camel and do tawakkul in Allah. They go both hand in hand.
SOLUTION
So what is the solution? It may not be easy, but simple.
Live Islam full time as our deen.
What does it mean? Does it mean we all should turn into monks and start praying 24/7? All day long? Not necessarily.
But it means we will need to redefine our life where Allah SWT is in the center. Everything we do should be to please Him. How do we do that?
It all starts with a sincere intention to please Allah SWT.
Then discover and connect our purpose in life with our work or business to serve Him as well.
Then get to know ourselves so we are grateful for the talents and skills Allah SWT granted us so we can use them to serve Him by serving His creation.
